When you ask students to develop their ideas or add details to their writing do they know what you mean?!  This resource includes three lists of specific strategies that students can work through to develop their ideas - one for creative writing, one for formal writing (which can also be used for literary essays), and one specifically to enhance thinking about texts to prepare for personal responses.  It is designed for students in Years 11 to 13, but can easily be adapted to suit further student levels or needs.

Activities (just a couple) for students to practice working methodically through their lists to see what they can use to improve their own writing/the given excerpt.
