US 28068 - V4 - Write a Connected Text on a Familiar Topic - PERSUASIVE LETTER
This editable resource guides students to success with the Level 3 EL Unit Standard 28068 Write a Connected Text on a Familiar Topic - version 4. Students write a PERSUASIVE LETTER to someone about an issue they are concerned about. Perhaps you are studying NZ beaches - students could write to the Prime Minister or a local council to persuade them to ... fix/add something to beaches.
This resource includes:
⭐ One student booklet - fully editable of course, so tweak as you like.
⭐ A coversheet to help you with grading and moderation. (Note, the NZQA criteria are a bit muddled so I've tidied things up a bit, slipped in definitions etc.)
You and your students will enjoy:
❤️ Logistics! A handy table of contents and a record of checkpoints along the way. (Just type in the due dates.)
❤️ Lots of scaffolding around structure.
❤️ Plenty of information around language features.
❤️ The example provided (plus links to NZQA exemplars)
❤️ Unpacked achievement criteria that your students will (hopefully!) better understand.
❤️ A planning template.
❤️ A helpful checklist.

Sharing/Copying this Resource
Feel free to purchase just one for your department - no need for a copy for each teacher. However:
- Please do NOT share with the school down the road.
- Please do NOT take it with you to a new school.
- Feel free to suggest the website to others - that'd be great!
That's pretty fair I think! Let's help each other out. :)
