US 30507 - V3 - EAP L3 - Write short text under test conditions
This fully editable resource guides students through to success for Unit Standard 30507 Write a short text under test conditions in English for an Academic Purpose - version 3. Students write an expository essay. It focuses on the theme of social media.
Please note: if you are working through our suite of level 3 EAP activities, you should have students complete 30511 Reading and 30509 Listening first because the texts for those assessments must be unfamiliar to the students, but have been included in THIS standard's resource (should you choose to use them).
This resource includes:
⭐ A preparation booklet which includes instructions, an example and a writing skills section (the same ones as our US 30508 resource)
⭐ A booklet of resource material and familiarisation activities to complete prior to the assessment (optional use).
⭐ An assessment booklet which includes instructions, the research question, a planning template, room to write and a checklist.
⭐ An assessment booklet of the resource material - 'clean' copies for the assessment with the research question on each page to keep students focussed.
⭐ A coversheet for grading and moderation purposes.
You and your students will enjoy:
❤️ Clear explanations, incuding unpacked achievement criteria.
❤️ Short activities to teach students necessary skills.
❤️ An example, which students later annotate.
❤️ A topic that students are interested in - social media.

Sharing/Copying this Resource
Feel free to purchase just one for your department - no need for a copy for each teacher. However:
- Please do NOT share with the school down the road.
- Please do NOT take it with you to a new school.
- Feel free to suggest the website to others - that'd be great!
That's pretty fair I think! Let's help each other out. :)

Reviews
It has been magic to find this resource with all the parts of writing together, so students can keep going back and checking their work.
I would love a few more exercises to support some of the basic skills to be added to the booklet.
