Year 10 Exam - Multiple activities - build your own exam
This resource includes multiple activities to choose from so that you can build your own year 10 exam (because we all want different things, right?!). Not only that, because it's editable, you can tweak anything you like (eg: reading comprehension questions, essay questions...)
The resource includes:
❤️THREE texts (fiction, non-fiction, poem) and for EACH of these you can choose what pages you want to build your exam. Select pages re:
- Text only
- Text plus language features (identify and describe effect)
- Text plus structural features (eg: find main ideas) - answers provided
- Reading comprehension (reading on, between, beyond/behind the lines) - answers provided
- Unfamiliar texts type answer - scaffolded (just slightly)
- Unfamiliar texts type answer - UNscaffolded
- Writing samples based on the text to test writing accuracy and abilities to write different sentence types (structures and beginnings)
❤️ Expository essay (incl topic, room to plan, tips about structure)
❤️ Literary essay (including essay questions, room to plan, tips about structure)
❤️ Reflection - a reflection page to give to your students afterwards. The post-mortem!
Documents:
⭐ One document that's your ORIGINAL, complete with everything to choose from. (We'll use that activity and that one and that one.)
⭐ One document that looks the same as your original but it includes answers to SOME of the activities - namely answers to the Reading Comprehension section and to the Structural Techniques section for each text. (Please note, no other answers or mark schedules are provided.)
Formats:
🖥️ Microsoft PowerPoint, resized to an A4 page. This means your resource:
- Is completely editable.
- Will easily upload to your Google Drive if you prefer the Googley suite.
