Writing Task - Biographical - Lock in a Legend
Have students produce engaging writing about a person they admire with this biographical task where they first interview their subject, then write about them. Students can be relatively creative (while sticking with factual information, of course) or formal.
Aimed at year 12 students, this task could also easily be used at years 11 or 13. This task can be used in conjunction with any of our achievement criteria toolkits for levels 1-3 (linked at the bottom of this listing).
Clear instructions, an example (with plenty of room to annotate), help with the interview process, planning and writing mean every step of the way is catered for. Students are encouraged and guided through ways to develop an idea about their subject (person) that a reader can learn from.
With pages on structural and language features to aid with writing and editing, students are encouraged to craft their work to cater for their audience and purpose.
