Practice and assess Unit Standard 30980 - Listen to and understand a straightforward English language spoken text on a familiar topic - version 2 with this fully editable resource.   The assessment text focuses on visiting New Zealand (things to do and be wary of), so would complement your previous/current study on New Zealand.

We assess this standard by having students take notes as they listen, then complete an infographic that maps main ideas and specific information (details).   Students first learn about note-taking, then work on this skill with two practice activities.  They are carefully scaffolded with this.  Finally, they complete the assessment.
