Writing Film Reviews
This product explains what a good film review requires, taking into consideration the NZQA Level 2 criteria to emphasise, crafting, developing ideas, structure and use of language features. It would be equally suitable, however for a Level 3 students.
It is designed as a very detailed, comprehensive 'checklist' that students can work through as they write, then edit their review. It also contains a couple of links to good review sites to allow students to read some good examples. It comes in a PDF format.

This resource was a good way to end a unit on writing film reviews. It focuses on students writing a review. There is a lot of guidance on structure and layout. I used it after studying how reviews are written and how we can develop writing creatively with language techniques. The booklet followed on from that, and students found it useful to see how to structure the work and include the language techniques and personal creativity needed.
