Reading and Writing Activities - Resource 5

$5.00Price

Build the skills and confidence of your year 9-10 students in reading and writing with this FIFTH resource in our literacy collection.   This editable booklet is for any students in school or at home who need literacy practice but is designed with New Zealand's literacy unit standards in mind!  Includes a separate answer booklet

Reading:

Activities are based on TWO texts:

  1. A first person, slightly humourous account of the unhygienic state of Solomon's water bottle.
  2. An article from a science website about water bottles and their capacity to breed and transmit disease.

Students answer questions about the individual texts, compare the two and use one to answers questions about the other.

Writing

  • Students must write a script for a presentation they'll give about how to care for your water bottle and why.
  • Students then complete a range of activities to show their abilities in the technical aspects of writing.

This resource includes:
