Reading and Writing Activities - Resource 10

Build the skills and confidence of your year 9-10 students in reading and writing with this TENTH resource in our literacy collection.   This editable booklet is for any students in school or at home who need literacy practice, but is designed with New Zealand's literacy unit standards in mind!  Includes a separate answer booklet.
 
Reading:
Students read three texts - one infographic, text-heavy and written in speech bubbles, plus two visual-heavy infographics (one of which is a true graph).  These are all about the world's connectivity to the internet.
Students answer questions about these texts.  Questions relate to things like genre, langauge and vocabulary as well as reading on, between, beyond and behind the lines.
 
Writing: 
Students must write TWO personal responses (each 100-150 words) about a point of their choice from any of the texts.
Students then complete a range of activities to show their abilities in the technical aspects of writing (grammar, punctuation, language etc).  Activities relate to the theme of the text.
 
This resource includes:
